A series of TURBO project workshops in Warsaw and a project webinar featuring the European Commission

From June 15 to 19, a series of intensive TURBO project events took place in Warsaw, focusing on the exchange of experiences and best practices, as well as discussions on the challenges and ways to develop the capacity of Ukrainian universities to respond effectively to crises. The events were organized by the Norwegian coordinator, NORD University, and the Polish coordinator, Kozminski University, with organizational support from the International Foundation for Social Adaptation on the Ukrainian side. The event was attended by representatives from seven universities and NGOs implementing the TURBO project, as well as seven additional Ukrainian higher education institutions interested in developing and implementing micro-accreditation programs for internally displaced persons (IDPs) and other vulnerable population groups. Other key topics included the benefits and challenges of using artificial intelligence technologies, the development of modern universities with increased integration into the digital environment, the promotion of inclusion and improved accessibility, as well as the effectiveness and practical focus of short-term educational programs.

On Friday, January 19, a webinar was held to review interim results, with the participation of all attendees in Warsaw, online participants from the project’s partner organizations, and representatives of the donor—the European Commission.

During the webinar, representatives from NORD University, the International Foundation for Social Adaptation, Kozminski University, and seven Ukrainian partner universities presented on the project’s achievements, challenges, initial conditions, current status of implementation, and lessons learned. Representing the IFSA at the event were the foundation’s president, Volodymyr Rubtsov, and financial director, Tetiana Lvova.

The in-person format of the first four days of events created a warm and friendly atmosphere and gave long-standing, trusted partners the opportunity to meet in person and interact with partners from different parts of Ukraine during these challenging times.
