During the first half of the first year of implementation TURBO project, seven universities participating in the project conducted comprehensive research on
- The general situation with IDPs in the regions where the universities operate.
- Dynamics of changes in the number of IDPs in the regions.
- Labor market reactions to internal displacement.
- The role of universities in the regions.
- Challenges faced by universities due to the war.
- Strategies for adapting to new challenges (in the short and long term), necessary competencies, available tools.
- Needs of other stakeholders.
At the second stage of the analytical and research work, the previous experience of retraining and social adaptation of veterans, military personnel and their families was analyzed; a comparison of IDPs' training needs and current professions in the labor market was made; proposals were developed to adapt the Norway-Ukraine project model to increase the level of social adaptation of IDPs; proposals for new short-term educational programs (microcredit principle) were developed; and curricula for retraining under the new educational program were developed.
Reports on the first and second blocks were submitted to the IFSA team. The Foundation processed the materials and made comprehensive reports (report No. 1 and report No. 2 of the project), which were submitted to Nord University on July 15.
After Nord University has processed and supplemented the reports, they will be published on the TURBO project information resources.
Currently, the Ukrainian universities participating in the project are working on the official approval of the developed programs at the university level and the development of teaching and learning materials. The programs will be approved by the Academic Councils of the universities and recommended for implementation as certified short-term educational programs for IDPs.
