On 30 May, two sessions of the spring semester of the TURBO project took place simultaneously in Ternopil and Chernihiv. The IFSA was represented by the president of the foundation, Volodymyr Rubtsov, and the financial director, Tetiana Lvova, in Ternopil, and the project coordinator, Olga Filina, in Chernihiv. Veronika Vakulenko, TURBO project coordinator, participated online in both events on behalf of Nord University.
The participants are internally displaced persons, people who are starting from scratch in a new community. The aim of the programme is to provide maximum support and social integration of participants into the community. The retraining programme focuses on entrepreneurship. All participants developed business plans and defended them. Civil society organisations involved in the project provide support in psychological and legal adaptation, assistance in finding employment or starting their own business. During their work together in the group, the graduates became real teams of friends, with mutual support, respect, motivation to develop their ideas and achieve their goals.
During the graduation ceremonies, presentations were made of the business plans that had been selected as finalists in the preliminary selection. After graduation, civil society organisations and the university remain in contact with the graduates and, upon request, provide them with advisory support and assistance in finding useful contacts.
Participants, teachers and trainers actively discuss ways to promote the business ideas of project participants in order to attract investment and grants.
Both graduation ceremonies were held in a friendly and warm atmosphere. Participants gratefully noted the important, professional and, at the same time, very humane support provided by the teams from universities and public organisations.
In Chernihiv, the project is being implemented by the National University ‘Chernihiv Polytechnic’ in cooperation with the NGO ‘Chernihiv European’. In Ternopil, it is being implemented by the West Ukrainian National University together with the NGO ‘Educational and Social Innovations’.
We thank our partners for their excellent cooperation. We sincerely wish the project graduates self-confidence, success, achievement of their goals and fulfilment of their dreams.
This project has received funding from the European Union (ERASMUS-EDU-2023-CBHE) under grant agreement No 101129315.
